De piek in de inflatie voor voedingsprijzen lijkt te zijn bereikt, maar voedingsmiddelen zijn inmiddels in België in 2 jaar tijd wel 16,2% duurder geworden. En hoewel de energieprijzen inmiddels fors gedaald zijn, geldt dit vooralsnog niet voor de voedingsprijzen.

Oorspronkelijk zou de tweejaarlijkse landbouwtoeleveringsbeurs Agromek het startschot van de viering van 500 jaar agrorelaties Nederland – Denemarken zijn. Het waren tenslotte de Nederlandse boeren, die door Deense koning Christiaan II in 1521 waren uitgenodigd om op het eiland Amager bij Kopenhagen voor hof en hoofdstad groente te telen.
Oorlog in Oekraïne, hoge energiekosten, inflatie en stijgende prijzen voor levensmiddelen. Dat is ook in de biologische sector in Duitsland, die sinds jaren alleen maar groei kent, niet zonder gevolgen gebleven. Desondanks ervaart de sector een relatief stabiele periode.
De alom bekende agrarische beurs Salon International de l’Agriculture (SIA), opende op 25 februari haar deuren. Dit jaar is Ovalie, een prachtige koe van het ras Salers, de levende mascotte van de beurs. In de zeven hallen van het Parc des Exposition Porte de Versailles in Parijs is er van alles te zien, te horen, te proeven, te kopen en te aaien. Deze beurs, waar ieder jaar honderdduizenden bezoekers uit alle leeftijdscategorieën op af komen, is ook the place to bevoor de hele Franse politiek.
Deze maand werd door het Franse parlement een wettekst aangenomen die de randvoorwaarden vastlegt voor de combinatie van zonnepanelen en landbouw, het zogenaamde ‘Agrivoltaïsme’. Daarmee staat het stoplicht op groen voor een versnelling van de uitbreiding van deze praktijk, en grote bedrijven spelen daar nu op in.
