De volgende Highlights verschijnt in verband met de kerstdagen en de jaarwisseling op donderdag 12 januari 2023.

Het landbouwkantoor van de Nederlandse Ambassade in België werkt sinds 2016 aan het thema voeding in de zorg. Nederland lijkt een voorsprong te hebben op België op het gebied van innovatieve voedingsconcepten ontwikkeld door bedrijven. Aangezien Belgische zorginstellingen een professionaliseringsslag op dit terrein willen gaan maken, zijn er marktkansen voor Nederlandse bedrijven in België ontstaan.

The Netherlands Embassy recieves award at Agriculture Advisory Service ceremony in Serbia

Nederlandse tuinbouwbedrijven kunnen een belangrijke rol spelen bij de ontwikkeling van een hoogproductieve en duurzame tuinbouwsector in India. Dat is gebleken tijdens een recente handelsmissie van het PIB-consortium NLHortiRoad2India aan India. Met tuinders, investeerders en retailbedrijven zijn afspraken gemaakt voor verdere samenwerking. Dat moet komende jaren uitmonden in concrete samenwerkingsprojecten.

Dat is de opdracht waarmee landbouwraad Ben Kubbinga komende jaren in beide landen aan de slag gaat. “Ketenontwikkeling in vooral tuinbouw, cacaosector en pluimveehouderij betekent voor deze landen een flinke stap voorwaarts. Aan mij de taak om hiervoor kennis en technologie van de Nederlandse agrofoodsector in te zetten.”

De ambities van Algerije in de landbouw leiden tot meer aandacht voor de rol van kwekersrecht. Tot nu toe is er geen actief systeem, maar daar wordt wel aan gewerkt. Dit werd duidelijk tijdens een bezoek van Naktuinbouw aan Algerije begin december.

In the newsletter Agriculture Kenya 2022 - 03 you could say we are getting in a festive mood, with potato, chicken and digitalization on the Kenyan menu. We commemorated more than ten years of cooperation between Kenya and the Netherlands in supporting the potato sector in Kenya and facilitated knowledge exchange during a Seminar on poultry health for sustainable production. We also celebrated the launch of the electronic phytosanitary certification to improve trade efficiency.
