“The global population is getting close to 10 billion by 2050. Protein stays essential to the human diet therefore high demand for protein sources is expected. Alternative protein sources - plant-based, cell-culture, insect-based and novel proteins have become key factors for future food security. Betagro PLC is driving our policies in response to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). We focus on enhancing the accessibility of people to high-quality and safe food products derived from innovative and sustainable agri-food systems.  Throughout countless partnerships, Betagro is working collectively with local and international partners to ensure an innovative and sustainable protein value chain. Apart from biosecurity and animal welfare, solar power as a renewable energy and improving nutritional value chain efficiency in livestock farming systems for lower greenhouse gas emissions are high on our agenda. This year Betagro has been approved by Carbon Neutral Network Thailand as a “Climate Action Leading Organization”. Also, we receive Certification for Greenhouse Gas Reduction from Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization). We have the capacity as Thailand’s first and only animal feed mill that is 100% solar powered during the day,” said Vasit.
