Highlights Agroberichten Buitenland week 33, 2022

Highlights Agroberichten Buitenland is de wekelijkse nieuwsbrief van het Landbouwattachénetwerk. U wordt iedere week geattendeerd op nieuws, activiteiten en achtergrondinformatie van 60 landbouwteams actief in 80 landen.

Tot einde augustus verschijnt de nieuwsbrief Highlights in een tweewekelijke frequentie in verband met de zomerperiode. De volgende editie verschijnt op 1 september.

- Spain: oils have risen in price by 56%, dairy and eggs by 16% since January 2021

With runaway inflation reaching 10.8% in July, a new record since 1984, a recent report analyzes the impact of rising food commodity prices on price of foodstuffs in Spain. It warns of the effect of the war in Ukraine as a factor of upward pressure on food prices.

- Hungary: regulations on logging relaxed, including in protected forests

The Hungarian government has announced that regulations on logging in the country’s forests have been relaxed, including protected native woods. The regulation change is meant to help provide firewood due to high energy prices caused by the war in Ukraine.

- Vietnam: tuna export in 2022 is expected to reach over 1 billion USD

According to statistics of Vietnam Customs, tuna export turnover in June 2022 reached 90 million USD, up 41% compared to June 2021. Accumulated in the first 6 months of 2022, tuna export turnover reached 553 million USD, up 56% over the same period in 2022. Tuna exports to main markets grew well, except the EU, Israel and Egypt.
