Exhibition

Korea International Exhibition of Machinery, Science and Technology for Agriculture, better known as KIEMSTA is the largest bi-annual international exhibition for agricultural machinery, equipment, science and technology in South Korea. The fair is open to trade visitors and the general public. It is hosted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and co-hosted by the Korea Agricultural and Machinery Industry and Cooperative Federation (KAMICO), and the city of Daegu. During the last edition of KIEMSTA, over 100,000 visitors from 22 countries attended the expo, where 458 companies from 28 countries presented their innovations and technology. With Korea opening its borders again, there are new opportunities for the Dutch high-tech agriculture and agricultural machinery.

Opportunities

South Korea is a leading economy in which manufacturing accounts for 90 percent of country’s exports and 30 percent of its GDP. Korea has been investing significantly in research and development, 80% of which is dedicated to manufacturing fields and automation. As less people in Korea go into the agriculture sector, in particular farming, modern faming technologies and equipment not only increase production, compensate the existing labour shortages, but hopefully will attract younger generation farmers with passion for gadgets and easy to operate machineries. As a major global player in the field of agriculture and an important supplier of agricultural machinery and technology, there are market ever growing opportunities for Dutch companies active in high-tech agriculture, innovative solutions, and state of the art equipment in Korea.

Netherlands Pavilion

From 2 to 5 November, during KIEMSTA, the Agriculture Attaché Network will organize a Netherlands Pavilion, providing a business network platform, and facilitating the Dutch businesses with finding the right partner in Korea. Dutch companies active in the field of high-tech agriculture/machinery are invited to join the Netherlands Pavilion, to showcase their innovative solutions to everyday challenges in this field. Our team of experts can give guidance to the participants for entering the Korean market, finding a local importer/agent, or other business inquiries.
