Met een aanstaande wetswijziging wil Duitsland de concurrentiepositie van kleinere producenten ten opzichte van de levensmiddelenhandel versterken. Het al eerder aangekondigde plan is in lijn met wetgeving in de Europese Unie sinds 2019 waarin oneerlijke handelspraktijken in de land- en tuinbouw wordt aangepakt. Alle EU-lidstaten voeren op dit gebied wetgeving in.
