2025.10.17 - XVII International Dairy Congress

At the end of October, the city of Uman in Cherkasy region hosted the XVII International Dairy Congress – annual event for Ukraine’s dairy sector. Producers and processors from all over the country gathered in Uman to discuss how to keep the sector growing in wartime conditions and how to prepare for deeper integration with the European Union. The Congress was organised by the Association of Milk Producers of Ukraine (AVM) and the Ukrainian Agrarian Council (VAR) and was supported by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine. 2025.01.10 - The forum «WATER in Ukraine-2025: under the prism of climate change, war and food security»

The forum was organised by the Professional Association of Environmentalists of the World (PAEW), the Office of Sustainable Solutions, with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine.

PAEW gathered more than 360 participants to consolidate efforts around water conservation and restoration in Ukraine: community leaders (from large cities to small village councils) from all regions of Ukraine, water utilities, design institutes, leading scientific institutions, enterprise ecologists, engineers, representatives of infrastructure projects, international donor projects, international experts and PAEW partners from the Netherlands, USA, Austria, Poland, Belgium, Estonia. The Agrifood platform Ukraine is looking for committed Dutch organizations that are (or want to become) active in the horticulture and dairy sector in Ukraine. The aim is to form Dutch clusters of companies, making it easier for Ukrainian companies and governmental organizations to find you and your specific skills and knowledge. Being part of a cluster could provide a better chance to become and stay successfull in the Ukrainian market. Two cluster orientation events for Covered cultivation & Dairy took place on 21 and 28 January and gathered Dutch comanies interested in cooperation.

2025.02.13 - Agrifood platform Ukraine -1st meeting in 2025

The first Agrifood platform Ukraine meeting of this year gathered Dutch companies in the Netherlands and in Ukraine, Goverment representatives, NGOs and those who are interested in doing business and investing in the Ukrainian agricultural sector. Carolien Spaans, Agricultural Counsellor of the Embassy in Kyiv joined the event in the Hague on-line with the latest updates from Kyiv.

During the event the importance of really understanding the needs in Ukraine and  current challenges and activities were dicussed. Inspiring company stories and activities were highlighted and the Water4Food cluster elaborated about its structure and examples of their activities. Read the report of the event

2025.04.4-13 - Study visit for Ukrainian officials and experts focused on animal welfare and official control systems to the Netherlands

The visit was jointly supported by the Government of the Netherlands and the Swiss-Ukrainian Programme “Higher Value Added Trade from the Organic and Dairy Sector in Ukraine” (QFTP). The delegation included representatives from the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, the State Service of Ukraine on Food Safety and Consumer Protection, and experts from international development programs.

Organized in close cooperation with the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority (NVWA) under the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature, the program provided the Ukrainian delegation with valuable insights into the Netherlands’ robust animal welfare system. Participants explored EU legislation, Dutch enforcement mechanisms, and practical implementation approaches at farms, slaughterhouses, training centers, and the Royal Animal Health Service. 2025.04.10-12 - Visit of LTO delegation to Ukraine

The first intergovernmental conference between Ukraine and Netherlands and the second Ukrainian-Dutch Agricultural Dialogue (UANLAD) took place in Lviv, Ukraine. The conference marked a historic moment in the bilateral relationship between the two nations, which will continue to serve as an annual platform for exchange going forward. Parallel to the Lviv conference, a delegation from the Netherlands Agricultural and Horticultural Association. (LTO) visited Lviv for a two day programme on 11^-12 April. Centre stage during their two day visit was the second Ukraine - The Netherlands Agricultural Dialogue (UANLAD). The UANLAD was co-organized by the Ukrainian National Agricultural Forum (UNAF), with full support and encouragement of the ministries of agrarian policy of both countries. 2025.05.20-23 - Business trip to the Netherlands of Ukrainian organic fruit and berry processors

Currently, the EU is the largest importer of Ukrainian fresh and processed fruit and berries. The Dutch companies supply to Ukraine planting material, equipment, growing and processing  technologies. Cooperation of the Dutch and Ukrainian sectors contribute to increasing European food security, earning capacity for producers and higher quality and safety of producrs for consumers.

The trip with the participation of Ukrainian small and medium exporters of organic berry products, business support organizations (BSO), organized by the Ukrainian Berries Association (UBA), the State Institution “Entrepreneurship and Export Promotion Office” (EEPO, Ukraine), and the Organic Initiative Public Union.The purpose of the trip was to establish mutually beneficial partnerships between European and Ukrainian companies, study export requirements, and expand the market of suppliers of quality fruit products to the EU. 2025.06.03 - Dairy Industry: Ukraine – EU

The Embassy suported the event organized by Infagro, Union of Dairy Enterprises of Ukraine.

The second session, moderated by Maks Fasteyev, Infagro Project Partner, began with a welcome address by Carolien Spaans, Agricultural Attaché of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine. In her address, she noted the importance of developing dairy sector in Ukraine and confirmed her readiness to continue supporting the European integration efforts of Ukrainian dairy. The delegates were offered a program that included a discussion of the steps necessary for the European integration of the Ukrainian dairy sector and strengthening the positions of Ukrainian dairy products on the EU market. 2025.06.10-12 - Visit of Ukrainian Potato association to the Nethelands

Cooperation on the level of sector association is very important for EU integration of Ukrainian agriculture. The visit of Ukrainian delegation to the Netherlands chaired by the Executive director of Association Mrs Olga Samoilichenko was organized in June 2025 in close cooeration with Dutch Agrofoodcluster. 2025.09.11-13 - Ukrainian National Florists' Competition

Dutch companies support the Ukrainian floristic competition "Where Life Begins" 2025. The war brings many challenges for the floriculture and floristic sector of Ukraine, which nevertheless continues to thrive and develop. The Embassy of the Netherlands in Ukraine is a partner of the National Florists' Competition, this year on the professional platform Flori Deco exhibition-salon of floristry, ornamental plants and phyto design. 2025.09.27-28 - NL stand at ProCheese Awards 2025 in Ukraine

This year the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands was a partner of ProCheese Awards 2025. At ProCheeseAwards visitors had the opportunity not only to taste the most delicious Ukrainian and foreign cheeses, take part in master classes, but also to communicate with the professional community of the dairy industry of Ukraine and other participating countries.
