About the event

This theit the National Farm Day took place on 4th September at the company Agroprodservice in Ternopil Region.

Agroprodservie is aleading dairy producer in Ukraine - one of the TOP-10 dairy giants of Ukraine by daily milk yield and the winner in productivity ratings: in 2024, the farm entered the TOP-5 dairy farms of Ukraine!

The event provided

A 300 m² industry exhibition with technologies and innovations for a modern farm.

A frank story from the Agroprodservice team about the development path of the dairy sector: from technologies and construction to management solutions that really work.

A unique opportunity to see two departments:

- a Holstein farm that completed 2024 with 13,300 kg of milk per cow in the qualifying weight**.

- the largest Jersey farm in Ukraine and Europe with over 2,600 animals with impressive with fat content (5.75%) and protein (4.21%) in milk.

A seminar with leading experts and successful cases:

  • modern approaches to growing alfalfa in hot conditions;
  • new leaders among silage corn hybrids;
  • automation systems for health control and herd management;
  • the best solutions for your own feed production.

Demonstration of new equipment for harvesting feed in the field.

During the opening, Ivan Chaykivskyi, founder of PAF "Agroprodservice", and Andriy Baran, general director of “Agroprodservice", spoke about the development of the dairy sector of the farm: technologies, construction and management solutions and shared plans for the future.

Andriy Dykun, chairman of the All-Ukrainian AgrarianCouncil and president of the Milk Producers Association (AVM), delivered an inspiring speech.

Carolien Spaans, Agricultural Counselor of the Embassy of the Netherlands, the partner of the event, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech, entirely in Ukrainian, under the slogan "The Netherlands - a partner of the Ukrainian dairy industry", and emphasized the practical trainings and video courses planned by the AVM to disseminate Dutch experience among the dairy community of Ukraine on the implementation of requirements for animal welfare and increasing farm efficiency, as well as the continuation of the Embassy's work to deepen ties between Ukrainian agricultural associations with colleagues and state authorities in the Netherlands: "We need Ukrainian farmers: for the food security of Ukraine, Europe and the world! This is what you provide every day, even during war!"

During the lecture part, Hanna Lavreniuk, Director General of the MILK PRODUCERS' ASSOCIATION, presented the current state of the dairy industry and emphasized the urgent European integration requirements for farms, first of all - regarding the welfare of cattle and calves, which come into effect from 01.01.2026.

Oleksandr Nazarko, Head of the Management Department of the MTF and CEO of GAF, spoke about the benchmarking of milk production in Ukraine - a system for comparing economic and technological indicators of dairy farms based on the model of leading countries in the world. The updated product of the project analyzes about 200 indicators of 29 enterprises in 13 regions of Ukraine every month and helps users get answers to the question: "Where is the money and reserves of a dairy farm?

"Experts from partner companies of the event shared their best practices on:

  • modern approaches to effective cultivation of alfalfa and silage corn in hot conditions;
  • new leaders among silage corn hybrids;
  • automation systems for health monitoring and herd management;
  • leading solutions for your own feed production.

During the practical part, the participants visited and got acquainted with all the blocks of the Holstein farm, put into operations in 2024 with 13,300 kg of milk per cow in the qualifying weight, and saw the largest Jersey farm in Ukraine and Europe (2,600 heads), getting acquainted with the peculiarities of working with this breed, which is impressive in fat content (5.75%) and protein (4.21%) in milk.

The farm team organized a great opportunity for all participants of the event to taste chilled milk from both farms to compare milk from Holstein and Jersey cows. Special attention was paid to the demonstration of feed procurement equipment for work in the field and on the farm, and acquaintance with a portable cow blood analyzer to monitor their health and feeding quality.

The final highlight of the practical part was a tour of the unique ethnopark "Agroland", founded by the farm.
