Support of Craft Producers in Ukraine - award to the Dutch Embassy in Kyiv

According to Deputy Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine Taras Vysotsky, for the last10 years the agricultural sector of Ukraine has proved to be advanced and technological, and for the last 4 year it became clear that it is also resilient and unbreakable. 10 years ago Ukrainian agrisector made the first steps towards EU, and now its transformations on the path to European integration are confident and persistent.

For the last years AgroPortal.ua, with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine, is working on the initiative on support of small business development in rural areas Incredible Villages on Ukraine. The joint project "Incredible Craft Bag", which is currently ongoing, was launched after a full-scale invasion. It provides information support to craft producers, popularization and promotion of local products. For 2026 the project CraftUP Ukraine is launched with support of the Government of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the framework of the program Private Sector Development. The main focus of the project is support of craft food producers of Ukraine towards establishing and scaling up their production while preserving regional and authentic features.

About 10 years ago Carolien Spaans, Agricultural Counsellor in Ukraine during her summer holidays went to a solo-trip around Ukraine. She believed that the worse is the road the better is the view, therefore, her route ran through picturesque Ukrainian villages.

Caroline Spaans returned from this trip very inspired and convinced that the prosperity of Ukraine depends on the development and well-being of Ukrainian villages (read more). Therefore, we did not hesitate to join the initiate of AgroPortal.ua. – Incredible villages of Ukraine and are happy to support the craft producers in the rural areas". Kateryna Tushynska, Agricultural officer of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

She also noted that the current goal is to ensure that entrepreneurs of all size stay and continue their work in rural areas. This is not only regional food security, but also the economic potential of Ukrainian villages. Kateryna Tushynska invited the businesses -  participants of DoAgro2025 to join the project #CraftUP and become mentors for the SMEs and craft producers.

On 11 December 2025 in the framework of the XVII International Conference "Doing Agribusiness in Ukraine" (#DoAgro25), AgroPortal.ua together with the Agricultural Office of the Netherlands Embassy in Ukraine launched the CraftUP project at the stand with the products from the vilages from all over Ukraine.
