Highlights Agroberichten Buitenland is de wekelijkse nieuwsbrief van het Landbouwattachénetwerk. U wordt iedere week geattendeerd op nieuws, activiteiten en achtergrondinformatie van onze landbouwteams die werkzaam zijn op de economische afdelingen van 60 Nederlandse ambassades en/of consulaten en van daaruit 80 landen bedienen. Via de link onderaan kunt u collega's attenderen om zich ook te abonneren.
Gedurende de maanden juli en augustus wordt de nieuwsbrief tweewekelijks verzonden. Vanaf begin september ontvangt u deze weer wekelijks.
Bram Wits verlaat na ruim vijf jaar West-Afrika. Het waren letterlijk en figuurlijk tropenjaren, maar als landbouwraad werkzaam op de Nederlandse ambassade in Ghana had hij het niet willen missen. ‘Klimaatverandering, duurzaamheid, bevolkingsgroei, voedselzekerheid: alle grote vraagstukken op het gebied van voedsel komen hier samen. Dit is dé battleground, hier gaan we het redden, of niet.’
In veel OESO-landen streven overheden naar hogere milieudoelstellingen voor de agrifoodsector. Maar doordat landen handel met elkaar drijven, kunnen hogere milieudoelstellingen in een land ervoor zorgen dat de concurrentiepositie van producenten in dat land sterk afneemt. Daarnaast kunnen deze maatregelen leiden tot een toename van de milieuvervuiling in andere landen.

Duitsland staat bekend om de grote aantallen biogas-installaties. Het is een grote, competitieve markt met veel spelers, maar het is ook een markt in beweging. En dat biedt kansen. Het landbouwteam van de Nederlandse ambassade in Duitsland en het International Clean Energy Partnership (ICEP) van RVO hebben daarom een marktstudie uit laten voeren door het Duitse ecoprog GmbH in Keulen.
Biogas in Duitsland: Veel concurrentie in een bewegende markt
Bauernhof Decker heeft zich tot doel gesteld het Melkveebedrijf in Bierbergen zo vorm te geven dat de nutriëntenkringloop, zowel wat betreft de voederteelt als de dierlijke organische meststof, zoveel mogelijk gesloten is en hun CO2-voetafdruk geminimaliseerd. Kortom ze zijn op weg naar een moderne, ecologisch en verantwoorde landbouw. Opvallend genoeg niet BIO, en binnen de reguliere melkketen rendabel. Uiteindelijk doel is natuurlijk een eerlijke meerprijs voor de extra inspanningen.

Frankrijk heeft met de aankoop van 80 miljoen doses vaccin een knoop doorgehakt om deze herfst daadwerkelijk over te kunnen gaan tot preventieve vaccinatie van eenden tegen vogelgriep.

Even before Russia announced the non-prolongation of the Black Sea corridor agreement beyond July 17 (agreed last year with the UN and Turkey) and which allowed Ukraine to export agri commodities from its Black Sea ports, experts announced their growing concerns about the capacity of the Romanian Constanta Port to handle the foreseen quantities forecast for the year 2023-2024.
The Romanian government has recently approved the state aid scheme for the implementation of a multiannual national programme called INVESTALIM, for the development and modernisation of the food processing sector, which will provide financial support to stimulate domestic food production during 2023-2026.

Agricultural Counsellors in East and South Africa are contributing to more sustainable business in amongst others horticulture, animal feed, dairy and potatoes. As part of these efforts, the Agricultural Counsellors at the Netherlands Embassies in Ethiopia, Uganda (also covering Rwanda), Kenya (also covering Tanzania), and South Africa initiated a two-day program focused on informing interested parties in The Netherlands about the main business opportunities, policy developments, local needs such as knowledge & skills gaps, needed innovations and challenges related to horticulture and livestock within their respective countries.
Kenya recently hosted the International Floriculture Trade Expo (IFTEX) to showcase its thriving floriculture industry. With over two million people depending on the sector, Kenya exports over 200,000 tonnes of flowers annually, valued at $900 million. The country's favorable conditions, including fertile soils and ample sunlight, make it a strategic hub for exporting high-quality flowers to Europe, the Middle East, and Asia.

GreenTech 2023 was held from 13 – 15 June at RAI Amsterdam. As a top platform in horticulture technology, this trade show allowed industry professionals worldwide to connect, network, share knowledge and do business. According to the organizer, 11,500 professionals from 128 countries attended the show, and one of the top 5 countries in the number of participants was South Korea.

Food Taipei 2023, which includes Food Taipei, Foodtech Taipei, Bio/Pharmatech Taiwan, Taipei Pack, and Taiwan Horeca, took place with great success on June 14th-17th, offering a platform for up to 1,498 exhibitors from 31 countries to showcase their products and services across 4,118 booths. The Agriculture Team of the Netherlands Office Taipei hosted and organized a Netherlands Pavilion introducing sustainable and innovative food brands from the Netherlands.
Viet Nam is ranked 16th among the world’s most biodiverse countries and is one of the ten richest centers of biodiversity in the world. Taking into account that biodiversity is an important contributor to economic development, how Viet Nam is doing in reserving this generous asset from the nature?
Nederland en Vietnam hebben geografisch veel gemeen. Beide landen vormen rivierdelta’s aan zee. Onze Rijndelta vertoont gelijkenis met de Mekongdelta. Niet voor niks zijn beide landen groot in aquacultuur. Nederland op het gebied van kennis en technieken (en minder als productieland). Vietnam is een toonaangevende producent van kweekvis en garnalen, maar mist nog de moderne expertise om het maximale uit die bedrijfstak te halen.
