Het Nederlandse landbouwteam in Brazilië organiseert in samenwerking met Dutcham van 21-23 juni 2023 opnieuw een Nederlandse stand op HORTITEC in Holambra, de belangrijkste tuinbouwbeurs van Brazilië.
Van 31 mei tot 4 juni 2023 vindt in de Dominicaanse Republiek de AgroAlimentaria beurs plaats. De Nederlandse Ambassade in Santo Domingo zal met een NL paviljoen deelnemen aan deze regionale Caribische beurs. Het is een kleinschalige beurs gericht op voornamelijk export van Dominicaanse (biologische) agroproducten. De beurs is interessant voor zowel bedrijven uit Nederland als bedrijven uit het Caribisch deel van ons koninkrijk: niet alleen om producten uit dit land te importeren, maar ook biedt het gelegenheid om producten aan te bieden.

Mexico’s avocado production and exports continue to grow. Its European market share has also grown over the last years. The Netherlands is by far Europe’s largest importer and exporter of avocados. But what is the environmental impact of this growing avocado trade between Mexico and Europe? This was the leading question in a new study, commissioned by the Netherlands Embassy in Mexico, which focused particularly on Jalisco, Mexico’s second most important avocado producing state. The findings of the study are now complete and will be presented in an on-line session on 9 May 2023.

In opdracht van het landbouwbureau van de Nederlandse Ambassade in Tokio werd recentelijk de nieuwe website The Netherlands Food Style gelanceerd. De website, gericht op zowel de Japanse consument als het bedrijfsleven, is gewijd aan de Nederlandse inspanningen op het gebied van duurzame voedselproductie en de Nederlandse eetcultuur. De website is gelinkt aan KitchenGarden, een website gespecialiseerd in geïmporteerde levensmiddelen op Rakuten, het grootste e-commerce platform in Japan.

From 13 to 17 March 2023, the Netherlands organized a trade mission to Korea and Japan about energy transition. The mission, led by Liesje Schreinemacher, Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, participated in trade shows, seminars, matchmaking events, and company visits. The Trade mission comprised over 40 companies and knowledge institutes active in hydrogen, battery, greenhouse horticulture, and offshore wind.
While Singapore is the first and to date the only country in the world that has approved the production and consumption of cultivated meat, the industry is growing and expanding to other countries in the region. On 15 and 16 March, the first Malaysia Cultivated Meat Conference was held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center. Organized by Cell AgriTech, the summit gathered (inter)national government bodies, companies, financial institutions, academics and NGO's to explore cultivated meat topics and opportunities in Malaysia.
In the first week of April, a delegation of Wageningen University and Research (WUR) visited Singapore to strengthen the collaboration on food science and research with the city-state.

Egypt is the agribusiness powerhouse of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA-region), watered by the Nile, with age-old soils in the delta, desert oases and the Nile, and with farming experience able to green the desert with productive agriculture. It is not only the region’s primary producers of many crops; with over a hundred million people it is the greatest consumer market and biggest labour reservoir.
