Vietnam: Agro-forestry-fishery exports fetch US$12.4 billion in four months
Export revenues of agro-forestry-fishery products in April is estimated to hit US$3.5 billion, pushing the figure in the first four months of this year to US$12.4 billion, equivalent to the figure recorded in the same period last year, reported the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.
In April, export revenues of farm produce is likely to hit US$1.5 billion, while that of aquatic products was estimated at US$694 million, and livestock reached US$46 million.
Meanwhile, earnings from forestry products and furniture are estimated at US$875 million in the month and US$3.27 billion in the first four months, up 17.8 percent year on year, resulting in a trade surplus of nearly US$2.49 billion for the forestry sector.
Impressive export revenues were seen in rubber (US$559 million), tea (US$62 million), fruits and vegetables (US$1.4 billion), cashew nuts (US$922 million) and peppercorn (US$288 million).
At the same time, exports of aquatic products in April are likely to reach US$2.48 billion, up 2.4%, including US$635 million from tra fish and US$913 million from shrimps.
In the month, Vietnam imported US$2.68 billion worth of agro-forestry-fishery products and agricultural materials, raising total imports in the four months to US$9.7 billion, up 3.2% year on year.
