As of 1 August 2025 the representation of the Netherlands Agricultural Network (LAN) at the Dutch Embassy in Kampala, Uganda, is closed.

Agriculture is the biggest sector in Uganda. Therefore it has a lot of potential for Dutch businesses. To give an overview of the current agricultural tax-landscape, a report has been published.

Under the “Kansen voor Morgen” program of LNV, Wageningen Environmental Research conducted a study on the opportunities for organic agriculture in Uganda. The aim of the study was to find entry points for leveraging initiatives around organic agriculture in the country.

The ninth edition of the best farmers competition was launched on April 11th, this is a well established competition, where Ugandan farmers proudly show their hard work with the aim of being crowned the best farmer.

Road maps are practical reports based on interviews and meetings with relevant stakeholders and research that give clear insight in the current state of affairs, trends, opportunities and developments in sectors as well as clear insight in roles and responsibilities of private sector, knowledge institutes, development partners and all other stakeholders.

Uganda has a market-based economy, abundant in natural resources, and a fast growing, young population. One of the key-sectors is agriculture, this reports dives into the current situation and the potential of the agricultural sector of Uganda.
