2018.02.05-06 Working visit to Ternopil
On 5-6 February 2018, the agricultural counsellor Carolien Spaans and honorary consul Andriy Hrynchuk visited Ternopil region in western Ukraine. It was their first introduction to the region and they took the opportunity to discuss cooperation with the local administration and to visit companies in the area that have a link with the Netherlands.
We would like to thank the local administration and the companies for a great introduction to the region. We are expecting to back soon on one of the upcoming events such as the investment forum on 24-25 May 2018. Read more here
2018.02.21 - IX Dutch-Ukrainian potato forum
February 21, 2018, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands hosted the IX Dutch and Ukrainian Potato Forum within the framework of Fruit. Vegetables. Logistics 2018 International Exhibition. The forum is traditionally conducted in partnership with the Association «Ukrainian Agribusiness Club» (UCAB) and the Ukrainian Association of Potato Producers (UAPP). The main topic of the event was the question of prospects and development of potato processing in Ukraine. Read more here
2018.02.21-23 Holland Pavilion at AgroSpring Exhibitions
19 Dutch companies took part in the Holland Pavilion organized at the International Exhibition Agro Spring 2018 (Fruit.Vegetables.Logistics, GrainTechExpo, AgroAnimalShow).
The companies presented products and services for TOP sectors agrifood, horticulture and planting materials including: seed potato and vegetable seeds, equipment and machinery for horticulture, storage solutions, genetic materials, technologies for animal husbandry, feed and health care products, solutions for food production and processing etc.
Among the participants of Holland Pavilion there were Dutch companies already known in Ukraine but also those who just explore Ukrainian market as their business direction. Read the report of the event. See the photos and news stream here
2018.04.17-19 Flower Expo
17-19 April 2018 the XII edition of the international exhibition Flower Expo Ukraine takes place in Kyiv. This year there are 34 Dutch companies participating at the trade show. They not only present their products and technologies but also bring to Ukraine their spirit of entrepreneurship, innovations and craftsmanship. Read more here
2018.05.02-03 Working visit to Lutsk and Rivne region
On 2-3 May 2018, the agricultural counsellor Carolien Spaans and honorary consul Andriy Hrynchuk visited Lutsk and Rivne region in western Ukraine. They took the opportunity to meet with the local and regional administration and to visit two companies in the area: Dutch pig farm Girsam and Ukrainian Dutch joint venture Odek, producer of plywood. We would like to thank both companies and the local administration for their hospitality and are looking forward meeting again soon. Read more here
2018.05.17 Agri Food MBA (KMBS) at Wageningen UR
Three challenges were put on the MBA students from the Agri Food MBA of Kyiv-Mohyla Business School (KMBS) from three Dutch companies who are active in Ukraine as part of a two week international module at Wageningen UR. On the final day, the MBA students presented the business cases after visiting the companies, lectures, discussions and putting in their own creative ideas and experience of the Ukrainian agricultural sector and business culture. 2018.05.24 Ternopil Investment Forum
Western Ukraine is the focus of both the agricultural and economic teams the Embassy in 2018. In the framework of preparation of the Dutch Trade Mission to Ternopil and Chernivtsi on 25-27 June the Agri team of the Embassy together with Honorary Consul in Western Regions and the representative of PIB Bioenergy Ukraine, took part in the Ternopil Investment Forum on May 24. 2018.06.11-15 Roadtrip PIB biobased energy Ukraine
In 5 days the Partners International Business Biobased Energy Ukraine visited three cities in Ukraine to share their knowledge, expertise, technologies and meet Ukrainian counterparts. The roadtrip was supported by the Agricultural team of the Embassy, the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine and all local administrations. Read more here
2018.06.25-27 Dutch trade mission to Ternopil & Chernivtsi
From 25-27 June a Dutch trade mission, headed by Ambassador Ed Hoeks, visited Ternopil and Chernivtsi. The embassy of the Netherlands is focusing especially on western Ukraine this year, a region with great interest for the Dutch companies and organizations joining. There are opportunities for cooperation in the field of agricultural and economic sectors such as logistics. 2018.07.11-13 Bilateral working group in Ukraine
From 11-13 July 2018 a delegation of the Dutch ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, headed by deputy Director general Aldrik Gierveld, visited Ukraine. Official part was the bilateral working group with the Ukrainian ministry of Agricultural Policy and Food, to discuss bilateral cooperation. It was followed by company visits to dairy farm Rozvolozhzhia, flower greenhouse & park Camellia and producer of bakery products Zeelandia & Dutch Bakery 21.03. Read more here
2018.07.27 - Seminar Saline Agriculture
Seminar "Saline Agriculture: practical solution for global problems" took place 27/07/2017 in the framework of Agroport South in Kherson, Ukraine. We discussed the soil degradation and salinity and also how to run agro production on these soils.
The event was organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine in cooperation with FAO, Salt Farm Foundation and Koppert Biological Systems, with participation of the Institute of Water Problems and Soil Reclamation of the NAAS.
2018.09.11-13 - Inprodmash and Upakovka
Inprodmash & Upakovka Выставки технологий для пищевой промышленности, the international exhibition for food processing companies was held in Kyiv 11-13 September.
“The Netherlands has experience, knowledge and technology to support the ambitions of the Ukrainian producers”, said Carolien Spaans, the Agricultural counsellor at the official opening.
The Holland pavilion organized byFoodTechLink Ukraine, presents 25 Dutch companies supplying equipment and technologies for food processing.

2018.09.13-14 Visit to incredible village Nevytske
Visit to Nevytske in Zakarpattia region, a finalist in the competition 'incredible villages of Ukraine'. The embassy of the Netherlands and the company Stokolex will give Nevytske a new Dutch tulip flowerbed to further stimulate the development of this incredible village. On September 14 the agricultural team of the embassy and the honorary consul of the Netherlands visited Nevytske to see the future location of the flowerbed and discover the potential of this village. Also they met wih the Zakarpattia Regionale State Administration. Read here about the visit.
2018.09.18 - VI Dutch Dairy Day
Dutch Dairy Day is not the day when everybody drinks Dutch milk. It is the event for the Ukrainian dairy farms who want to improve quality of produced milk and optimize management processes at the farm. Yesterday the 6th Dutch Dairy Day took place at the Kischentzi farm in Cherkasy Oblast www.kischenzi.com. Dutch experts held practical masterclasses with dairy cows starring, shared tips on how to feed calves, work without antibiotics and how to evaluate effectiveness of dairy farm operation. We would like to thank the organizing team of the Dutch-Ukrainian Dairy Centre, the Ukrainian Association of Milk Producers, and the company DYKUN for this great day

2018.10.09 Dutch FMO and DCP jointly acquire 16% of shares in Allseeds
On 9th of October the Agricultural Counsellor joined the press conference and tour at Allseeds in Yuzhny port. Dutch Development bank FMO and DCP jointly acquired a 16% equity stake in Allseeds, providing financing to realize Allseeds ambitious growth strategy which includes the expansion of its processing and transshipment capacities, additional steps of vegetable oil processing and value-added, and the improvement of corporate governance, environment, and social standards. 2018.11.01-02 Lviv agri session and NL business event
On 1-2 November 2018 the Economic forum was held in Lviv. During the forum an agricultural session was organized. The honorary consul together with the embassy organized an event for Dutch business to share the results of the western Ukraine study. Finally, the agricultural counsellor visited logistics company E. van Wijk. Read more here
