Ukraine will stop export of mineral fertilizers

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine introduced a zero quota for the export of mineral fertilizers, de facto ban on the export of fertilizers from Ukraine.

This was announced by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Roman Leshchenko.

"Due to the state of war, to maintain the balance in the domestic market of important mineral fertilizers, the Government is introducing a zero quota for their export. That is, a de facto ban on the export of fertilizers from Ukraine. This applies to nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and complex fertilizers, "the Minister explained.

The relevant government decree states:

    mineral or chemical fertilizers, nitrogen (HS code 3102);

    mineral or chemical fertilizers, phosphorus (HS code 3103);

    mineral or chemical fertilizers, potassium (HS code 3104);

    mineral or chemical fertilizers containing two or three nutrients: nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium; other fertilizers; goods of this group in tablets, packages with a gross weight of not more than 10 kg (HS code 3105).

Roman Leshchenko stressed that this ban is temporary and applies to restoring the balance of certain goods in the domestic market and ensuring a sowing campaign.
