Evert Jan Krajenbrink is sinds augustus 2025 werkzaam als LVVN-raad op de Nederlandse ambassade in Pretoria voor Zuid-Afrika.

Evert Jan Krajenbrink, LVVN-raad

Tot zomer 2025 was Evert Jan Krajenbrink Internationale Coördinator voor Innovatie en Publiek-Private Partnerschappen bij LVVN. Hij studeerde sociaal-economische geschiedenis en Internationale Betrekkingen in Groningen, en promoveerde in 2003 op het Landbouwschap en de publiekrechtelijke bedrijfsorganisatie. Sinds 2005 is hij werkzaam bij het ministerie van Landbouw, Visserij, Voedselzekerheid en Natuur (LVVN), waar hij diverse functies bekleedde, onder meer LVVN-raad in Oekraïne (2012-16) en Japan (2016-21). In Zuid-Afrika zet hij zich samen met zijn team in voor het promoten van duurzame voedselsystemen, met speciale aandacht voor een duurzaam verdienvermogen van de Nederlandse agribusiness, biodiversiteit, water en klimaatverandering. 

Evert Jan Krajenbrink, Agricultural Counselor

Evert Jan Krajenbrink was appointed as the Agricultural Counselor for South Africa starting in August 2025. Prior to his posting in South Africa, he was the International Coordinator for Innovation and Public-Private Partnerships at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature (LVVN). Evert Jan Krajenbrink studied Socio-Economic History and International Relations at the university in Groningen and obtained his PhD in 2003 with a thesis on the Dutch Agricultural Board and the industrial organization in Agriculture. Since 2005, he has worked at LVVN, where he has held various positions, including LVVN counsellor in Ukraine (2012-16) and Japan (2016-21). In South Africa, he and his team are committed to promoting sustainable food systems, with a special focus on the sustainable earning capacity of Dutch agribusiness, biodiversity, water, and climate change.

Bernard Likalimba

Bernard Likalimba, Agricultural Advisor

Married for 24 years, Bernard Likalimba has 3 children. Since 2000 he has worked extensively with private companies and international NGOs on social and economic issues across Africa and other parts of the world. For more than 10 years Bernard has worked on policy and economic aspects in the Agricultural Sector.

William Bowden

William Bowden, Agricultural Officer

William Bowden joined the agriculture team in November 2022, as a fresh university graduate. With a background in international relations and foreign languages he is right at home in the embassy team. As the Agricultural Support Officer his day to day responsibilities include managing the team's finances, drafting reports or conducting research for internal affairs as well as trade requests.

Dalene Breytenbach

Dalene Breytenbach, Management Assistant

Dalene Breytenbach is the Management Assistant for the agriculture team. She joined the team in June 2021. Previously she worked in a corporate environment as an investment specialist and thereafter as the personal assistant to the Ambassador of Hungary and the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates in South Africa. Dalene studied at the Tshwane University of Technology in Pretoria, in the Administration and Secretarial field.
