Highlights Agroberichten Buitenland is de wekelijkse nieuwsbrief van het LNV Attaché Netwerk. U wordt iedere week geattendeerd op nieuws, activiteiten en achtergrondinformatie van onze LAN teams die werkzaam zijn op de economische afdelingen van 60 Nederlandse ambassades en/of consulaten en van daaruit 80 landen bedienen. EUROPE - Frankrijk: Nederlandse ambassadeur warm onthaald op grootste Franse tuinbouwbeurs SIVAL 2024

De SIVAL tuinbouw vakbeurs behoeft geen introductie meer. Met 700 exposanten en ongeveer 26.000 bezoekers is dit de grootste beurs voor tuinbouw in Frankrijk, met een groot aanbod aan machines en apparatuur, zaad- en plantenleveranciers en vele diensten.

- Frankrijk: nu eindelijk werk maken van hergebruik van water in de landbouw

Frankrijk loopt achter op de buurlanden als het gaat om hergebruik van water in de landbouw, met name irrigatie. Het betreft water dat na een eerdere toepassing is gezuiverd voor nieuw gebruik. Nieuwe wetgeving moet daar nu verandering in gaan brengen.

- Spain: what happened in 2023 and what we can expect in 2024

The Spanish agri-food sector closed 2023 trying to curb inflation with measures such as the VAT abolition/reduction on basic foodstuffs, which did not help olive oil, which continues to be paid at the price of gold. A year in which many crops were depleted by the persistent drought, and in which a new CAP was implemented that did not satisfy most of the farmers.

- Ukraine: Carolien Spaans appointed as Agricultural Counsellor

Carolien Spaans is currently the Agricultural Counsellor in Warsaw, Poland. She will be starting her duties as Agricultural Counsellor in Ukraine on March 1, 2024. Between 2016-2019, she was Agricultural Counsellor at the Netherlands embassy in Kyiv, with Ukraine as her working area. Before her posting in Kyiv, she worked as an advisor at the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

ASIA - South Korea: through cooperation with the Netherlands, the Chungnam province commits to smart farming

Past November, the Chungnam province (also known as South Chungcheong Province) in South Korea has solidified its commitment to becoming a 'smart agriculture capital' by signing a memorandum of understanding with the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality, through the Netherlands embassy in Seoul.
