Türkiye: use of technology increases productivity and quality in agriculture
Stating that technology can be used in different stages of agricultural production, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Yumaklı said “In order to increase productivity and quality, you absolutely need to install technological developments in every stage of production.”
Ibrahim Yumaklı, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, made statements to the AA correspondent at TEKNOFEST at Etimesgut Airport, organized by the T3 Foundation and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, of which Anadolu Agency (AA) is the global communication partner for the 8th time. Pointing out that they continue to convey a vision that prioritizes productivity, quality, sustainability, registration and agricultural investments in agriculture, Yumaklı used the following expressions:
“One of the most important elements of this is the technology. Of course, you use technology at every stage of your life, you need to use it, but if you are engaged in production, you need technology even more. You may use technology in different stages of agricultural production, from collecting information to recording them, and then in different stages of agricultural production, perhaps in matters where manpower and labor may not be enough. In order to increase productivity and quality, you absolutely need to install technological developments at every stage of production.”Yumaklı stated that technologies in the fields of vertical and soilless agriculture and irrigation attract attention in the agricultural sector, and explained that the use of technology in these areas increases productivity and quality.
Tackling climate change must be accompanied by increased production
Stating that they closely follow the developments in agricultural technology in the world, Yumaklı noted that they also support agricultural technologies developed in Türkiye and encourage them to reach the highest level.
Yumaklı stated that the use of technology in agriculture will continue to increase as in every sector and made the following assessment:
“There are some elements that have entered our lives more than in previous periods. Climate change is one of them. While you are tackling climate change, you also have to increase your production and ensure that the production you increase is both efficient and of high quality. Therefore, you can be purified from the effects of all these and at the same time, you can only do the things that will increase production by using and prioritizing technology and incorporating it into every stage of production.”
High-level technology is used in the fight against forest fires
Explaining that the Ministry uses high technology in the fight against forest fires, which have been on the agenda recently, Yumaklı said “The main factor underlying our success in recent years is that we have incorporated technology into the fight against these fires. We use technology at a high level, especially in unmanned aerial vehicles, fire-fighting equipment, air and land vehicles.”
