Vietnam’s major administrative reform

On July 1, 2025, Vietnam's government implemented a major administrative reform, merging its 63 provinces into 34 new provincial-level units, eliminating the district tier and establishing a streamlined two‑tier system of provinces (or centrally‑governed cities) and communes. In the Mekong Delta, 13 former provinces were consolidated into 5. The restructure eliminated districts, and significantly reduced the number of communes, thereby streamlining governance and freeing up resources for socio-economic investment.

The Netherlands is Vietnam’s #1 fruit export market in the EU

According to latest statistic by General Department of Customs, Vietnam’s fruit exports to the EU are booming — and the Netherlands is leading the way. In the first 4 months of 2025, fruit & vegetable exports to the EU hit $132 million (+33% year-on-year). Top performers are mango, pistachio, pineapple and coconut.

Thanks to the EU-Vietnam Free Trade Agreement 🇪🇺 🇻🇳 and rising European demand for organic, certified products, Vietnamese fruit exporters gain both tariff advantages and new market opportunities — provided they meet strict SPS standards.
