During the webinar we will talk about the future of circular economy after the pandemic and will specially discuss the role of circular design in building resilience for the future.

The world starts to recover after the first wave of Covid-19. However, the majority of boosting measures ensure (and even stimulate) continuation of business as usual, with low attention to risks of crossing planetary boundaries, resources depletion and climate change. Circular economy seems to be still seen as a long-term undefined dream, while the growth of GDPs and stocks in linear way is a top priority regardless the price.

During the webinar with Douwe Jan Joustra we will talk about the future of circular economy after the pandemic and will specially discuss the role of circular design in building resilience for the future.

Douwe Jan Joustra – the Dutch top manager, consultant and visioner with outstanding international experience in circular design and circular economy. Mr Joustra was the Head of Circular Transformation at C&A Foundation. The ambition of C&A Foundation is to make 'Fashion a force for good', based on circular economy principles. Under his guidance, C&A Foundation became, worldwide, a thought leader in the development of 'Circular Fashion'.

Douwe Jan was a change manager/strategist in the Dutch Accelerator CE (NederlandCirculair!). He was associate of the Dutch Green Science Alliance (Het Groene Brein), creating and servicing the Research Agenda for Circular Economy and the Dutch Circular Economy Science Lab. And he was associated with InnovationPartners, designers of the new economy. Mr Joustra started working on the role of design in Circular Economy in 2013. This resulted in CIRCO – ‘Creating business through circular design’ as a programme, that inspires and facilitates the manufacturing industry to ‘Go Circular’, using a circular design approach.
