A joint workshop titled ‘Indian-EU collaboration in seed sector development and PVP ( Plant Variety Protection) ’ will be held in New Delhi 22 -23 February, 2018.

The collaboration is in the framework of the tri-lateral agreement on PVP and seed sector development between India, Germany and the Netherlands providing us important opportunities to discuss developments and to improve relationships.

The focus of the workshop will be on the possibilities for the seed and horticultural sector to operate in India and also aim to find efficient ways for Indian and EU breeders to apply in each systems respectively. Such an approach would be very important for European breeding companies to invest in the Indian market and to deliver improved plant varieties to Indian farmers.

Presentations will be given by Indian authorities, UPOV ( Union for the Protection of new Varieties of Plants), CPVO( Community Plant Variety Office) and breeders associations, both from India and from Europe.
