On 16 February 2026, the Dutch Embassy in Spain presented a study on generational renewal and the inclusion of women and young people in the European agrifood sector, with a focus on Spain and the Netherlands. The study, authored by Beate van de Poll on behalf of the LAN agricultural network in Madrid, showcases initiatives and policies in both countries and explores how Spain and the Netherlands can cooperate and contribute on this shared challenge.
The presentation took place at the School of Forestry of the Polytechnic University of Madrid, followed by a panel discussion with Amparo Martínez (farmer and President of the Federation of Rural Women’s Associations in Valencia), Juan Luis Fradejas (organic farmer from Zamora and professor at the Agricultural Engineering School of Comillas), Eva Rodríguez (livestock farmer and owner of Granxa Ameixeira in A Coruña) and Carmen Martínez Ramiro (Head of the Technical Department on Equal Opportunities at Cooperativas Agro alimentarias in Spain).
