Investment guide of the Simiyu region in Tanzania, as published by the Tanzanian regional government

The Simiyu Region is a newly formed region in 2012 in the north of Tanzania. As a new region, it is relatively unknown to investors. The main source of income for this region is agriculture. The Simiyu region is the leading producer of cotton in the region and this sector is therefore then also identified as a possible investment opportunity in the Regional Investment Guide. As well, opportunities could be present in the post-harvest processing of both fish and vegetables due to the proximity of Lake Victoria and local agricultural production.
