Living Business Cases: Agri Food MBA (KMBS) at Wageningen UR

Three challenges were put on the MBA students from the Agri Food MBA of Kyiv-Mohyla Business School (KMBS) from three Dutch companies who are active in Ukraine. It is part of a two week international module at Wageningen UR. On the final day, the MBA students presented the business cases after visiting the companies, lectures, discussions and putting in their own creative ideas and experience of the Ukrainian agricultural sector.

Three challenges

What are the best expansion scenario's for our greenhouse project? What would the strategy be for realizing a fast pyrolysis plant in Ukraine? When it comes to responsible production; what changes are needed in Ukraine to meet the current and future requirements of the EU market?

Three challenging business cases for the MBA students of KMBS to dive into during their two week international module at Wageningen UR, supported by the embassy of the Netherlands in Ukraine. The results of the business cases were presented at the final day, on May 14 to a jury. In the jury were the representatives of the companies, the agricultural counsellor of the Netherlands in Ukraine and Wageningen UR. With their expertise of not only the agricultural sector in Ukraine but also of the business culture, the MBA students contributed to the strategy of the three companies for further doing business in Ukraine. After deliberation the jury decided therefore that all presentations deserved to be announced as winners.

We would like to thank the companies (BTG-BTL, Foodventures, Agrifirm) for opening their doors to the MBA students and by that contribute to what is known in the Netherlands as the ' golden triangle'; a strong cooperation between research, education and business.
