On 16 July 2026 the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) and the World Horti Center held an online presentation and discussion on the future development of the Ukrainian greenhouse horticulture sector.
The Ukrainian market is mainly interested in low- and mid-tech solutions for greenhouses, suppliers of fertilizers, climate control systems, seeds, etc.
The event was aimed at practical cooperation opportunities between Dutch companies, Ukrainian growers, knowledge institutions and public stakeholders.
Kateryna Volianska, from the Cluster of Covered Horticulture of the Agriculture & Food Security platform Ukraine presented the key findings from the recent study “Market Report on Needs Assessment. Protected Crop in Ukraine”.
The Cluster of Covered Horticulture of the Agriculture & Food Security platform Ukraine supported by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency has compiled this comprehensive market report to help the Dutch entrepreneurs in protected cultivation to develop cooperation with Ukraine. The research is based on interviews with commercial greenhouse companies across Ukraine, surveys among growers and consultations with industry stakeholders.
The presentation provides insight into:
- Current developments and challenges in the Ukrainian greenhouse horticulture sector;
- Investment and reconstruction opportunities;
- Technology and knowledge needs as identified by Ukrainian growers;
- Possible areas for Dutch-Ukrainian cooperation;
- Opportunities for the transfer of Dutch expertise and innovations to Ukraine;
