In cooperation with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Ukraine, the Nature Park «Beremytske» and  Charitable Organization «Beremytske Biosphere» organized the Earth Day event for the youth from the neighbouring communities in Chernigiv region, Ukraine.

Environmental progress is built through everyday action—from communities protecting ecosystems to innovators advancing solutions. Clean air, safe water, and climate resilience aren’t optional—they’re essential.

The event is based on a simple and understandable observation of nature as a living ecosystem, where everything is closely interconnected. Soil, plants, animals, water, air, weather and time do not exist separately, but affect each other and form a single ecosystem. The guided tour around the park focused on the importance of preserving and improving biodiversity, as well as maintaining the natural balance.

The participants of the Earth day were children from the families of Ukrainian defenders and internally displaced persons. A day at the nature park has also contributed to psychological relief and recovery for these community residents who were greatly affected by the war.

Beremytske Nature Park is a space that in itself works as a therapeutic environment and creates conditions for recovery without additional effort, and all natural processes can be seen live and felt directly. Here you can see how the landscape changes, how vegetation recovers, how different species coexist, and how nature gradually heals the traces of destruction. This gives participants the opportunity not only to talk about recovery, but to observe it in real time.

The Charitable Organization «Beremytske Biosphere»  since 2015 is working on restoring unique ecosystems of the Ukrainian Woodland as it was existing before the active anthropogenic impact. The activities of the organization aimed at sustainable development of local communities to restore and preserve local natural ecosystem.

Rewilding of former agricultural land, combined with the unique ecosystem around and local cultural traditions, became the basis for development of ecotourism, scientific and educational activities that will lead to sustainable economic development of the region.

The ecotourism initiatives of the nature park Beremytske are based on the main princiles -  care and environmental protection. People who choose this type of relaxation adhere to the basic rule of "do no harm."
