The Government of Kazakhstan adopted the conducting of food security status monitoring.
According to the document, the volume of food product production, their commodity movement, and the presence of stocks, as well as prices for socially significant food products, are studied during food security status monitoring.
Monitoring includes the following directions:
· Provision by internal production in the context of socially significant food products based on the results of the formed commodity balance;
· Price index of manufacturing enterprises for food products;
· Price index for socially significant food products;
· Volume of stocks of main food products.
The volume of stocks of main food products is determined by summing stocks in agricultural enterprises, peasant or private farms, grain reception points and elevators, retail outlets, and regional food product stabilisation funds.
The rules prescribe the tasks of authorised state bodies within the framework of monitoring and the deadlines for providing or publishing data on the state of food security.
