Food security
The President emphasized the importance of completing fieldwork and harvesting crops on schedule. The country’s food security and the stability of the domestic market rely directly on these efforts. A successful harvest will boost our export capabilities, paving the way for increased exports. Last year marked a strong performance for Kazakhstan’s agricultural sector. Thanks to the hard work of farmers, a record grain harvest was achieved, largely due to the proper use of agricultural technologies. This has resulted in agricultural production growing faster than other sectors. The outcomes for the first eight months of this year are quite promising, and the measures implemented to improve production’s technological capacity are proving effective.
Focus on seeds
Special focus should be placed on acquiring high-quality seeds. Additionally, effective measures are necessary to boost our market’s self-sufficiency with domestically produced seeds. The improved subsidy mechanism for mineral fertilizers introduced last year has demonstrated its effectiveness. The Ministry of Agriculture will need to implement similar state support initiatives for seed production. Overall, it is important to highlight that we have achieved strong results in crop production, which positively impacts related agricultural sectors, said Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
Animal husbandry
In addition, the Head of State urged the full realization of the livestock sector’s potential. "A livestock development program will be finalized by the end of the year, providing a framework for long-term preferential financing. Achieving transparency and efficiency across all sectors of the economy is only possible through complete digitalization. I addressed this matter extensively in my Address. We must accelerate the adoption of digital technologies in agriculture, using digital solutions to thoroughly monitor processes in both crop and livestock production. Establishing collaboration with IT companies is essential in this effort," the President emphasized.
Conclusion
In conclusion, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev reminded that substantial budget funds are dedicated to the development of agriculture.
“Therefore, every task undertaken and every event held must yield clear results and positively impact the agricultural sector.
The state consistently supports diligent farmers. I personally pay close attention to agriculture, and this sector will remain under my direct oversight,” the Head of State concluded.
