Shavkat Mirziyoyev stated that in such conditions, every export market is extremely important for the country. On July 30, under the chairmanship of Shavkat Mirziyoyev, a video conference meeting began on mobilizing new reserves and opportunities to increase exports of fruits, vegetables, and food products, the President’s press service reported.
At the meeting, the Head of State drew attention to the fact that the international situation is changing daily, and the concepts of "abnormal heat" and "abnormal cold" are becoming common phenomena year after year. The President noted that under such conditions, every export market is extremely important for the country.
If necessary, the export market is one of the priority areas of economic security. Therefore, those responsible in the industry and leaders should not justify themselves with the weather but should adapt to the conditions and shift to growing products resistant to heat, cold, and drought, Mirziyoyev said.
In the past six months, food exports have increased by 44%, reaching 1.326 billion dollars. The geography of exports has expanded to 16 countries. At the same time, Tashkent region, Surkhandarya region, and Karakalpakstan are lagging behind other regions in the pace of exporting fruits, vegetables, and food products. Navoi region also failed to reach the 2024 targets.
These regions and the government-appointed representatives should intensify their work in this direction, the President emphasized.
