Ukraine offers opportunities for the Dutch technologies for the food-processing industry.

Food processing sector accounts for 9.1% of Ukraine’s GDP and 17% of export value. Food processing industry in Ukraine is 40 different sub-sectors, more than 5000 companies and 304 thousand employees.

According to the Deputy Minister of Agricultural Policy and Food of Ukraine Olga Trofimtseva, 90% of processed food sold in Ukraine is of local production. Processed food constitutes more than half of Ukraine’s international trade in agricultural products.

The Ukrainian food producers actively target international markets following Russia market closure in 2015. Producers establish public-private partnerships aiming at the new markets for added value food products. They are committed to develop new products with added value and compliant with the international standards. They search for technologies, solutions and advice.

On September 11-13, 2018 the International exhibition Inprodmash and Upakovka took place. 25 Dutch companies were presented at Holland Pavillion organized by PIB FoodTechLink Ukraine. The participants of the PIB are complementary in their scope of activities and are focused on the most promising food processing sectors of Ukraine: fruit and vegetables, industrial bakeries and confectionery, dairy and meat.

The real results of the exhibition will be evaluated after follow-up contacts are complete. We can state now that Holland pavilion was always busy. Participants shared their experiences at the facebook page of the event.
