Bangkok is ready for Thai-Dutch Seminar at Healthy Food Asia 2023

You are kindly invited to join the Netherlands-Thailand Seminar in Healthy Food Asia 2023 that will take place on the 5th and 6th of July in Bangkok. The event is organised by the Netherlands Embassy in Bangkok in collaboration with VNU Exhibitions Asia Pacific Co., Ltd.,  DSM Nutritional Products (Thailand) Ltd., Trouw Nutrition (Thailand) Limited, Agri Solutions Asia Co., Ltd and Expo Business Communications B.V.

The state of food security in Thailand is currently grappling with various challenges in the wake of global food shortages. To ensure sustainable food security, Thailand must address availability, accessibility, utilization and stability as identified by the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). The seminar will take place on the 5th Floor, Main stage, Samyan Mitrtown, Bangkok (online platform is not available). The program of the seminar consists of two days:

Animal Protein Sector on 5 July

This English session titled “Animal Protein Sector: at the forefront of more innovative and sustainable food system” takes place on Wednesday 5th July from 10:30 till 11:30 hs. with participation with the following guest speakers:

  • Ms. Miriam Otto (Deputy Ambassador, Head of Political and Economic Department at NL embassy in Bangkok)
  • Dr. Voravasa Chaiworakul (Nutrition & Health Solution Manager, DSM Nutritional Products (Thailand) Ltd.)
  • Dr. Dexter M. Abrigo (Marketing Manager, Trouw Nutrition (Thailand) Limited)

Safety vegetables for all on 6 July

This English session titled “Safety vegetables for all: a Dutch approach for innovative and low carbon footprint system takes place on Thursday 6th July from 13:00 till 13:45 hs with the following guest speaker:

  • Mr. Menno Keppel (CEO Agri Solutions Asia Co., Ltd.)

          “Healthy food means safe, nutritious and produced in a sustainable way with respect for the health of the planet, people, plants and animals. The Netherlands and Thailand have been collaborating closely for innovative and sustainable agriculture and food systems. The Netherlands – Thailand Seminar in Healthy Food Asia 2023 is an opportunity that we could learn from the experts how animal protein and vegetables could play a role in a healthy and sustainable food system” said Gijs Theunissen, the Dutch Agricultural Counsellor for Thailand.

          According to McKinsey, half of consumers call healthy eating a top priority. Today’s health-conscious consumer is driving all new dietary habits. They are passionate about embracing health in many aspects of their lives, and food is a huge part of this. Food is identified with a much wider variety of health benefits and concerns. Consumers are looking for specific foods to benefit their health, and to support their self-care strategies.
