"(...) We have the livestock part (DR 20 - Investments in the livestock sector), Setting up of young farmers (DR 30 - Support for setting up of young farmers), irrigation systems (DR 25 - Modernisation of irrigation infrastructure and DR 26 - Establishment of irrigation systems). Regarding irrigation, I went to Dâmbovița county last week where work has already started on an irrigation system infrastructure and I have assurances from the builder that it will be completed at least 1 to 1.5 years ahead. In addition to the irrigation part of the main infrastructure, through which the farmers' organisations (water users’ associations) can access 400 million euros, we have put in place a 100 million euro local development component so that, by building the Siret Bărăgan section of the canal, farmers will have the money to access the inner infrastructure through the approvals that the National Land Improvement Agency will issue, so that the canal we want to build will also be efficient and will bring water directly to the plants where it is needed. Practically, at the end of September all these investments will be launched, these being major investments", Florin Barbu assured
