XIV International symposium on flower bulbs and herbaceous perennials in Warsaw, Poland

This symposium brings together scientists, breeders and experts working on ornamental geophytes and herbaceous perennials from the host country Poland and around the world.

Focus

The symposium will cover topics on:​​

  • Propagation, cultivation and forcing
  • Flowering, postharvest and storage physiology
  • Biodiversity and genetic resources
  • Genetics, biotechnology and breeding
  • Plant protection
  • Using in landscape and for other purposes

Speakers representing six countries (The Netherlands, Israel, South Korea, Poland USA and Italy) will give their presentations. Detailed program of the event (held entirely in English) is on the website: flowerbulbs2024.pl

Field visit

Next to presentations and discussions also a visit to local flower producers will be organized.

  • BOTANIA in Ożarów Mazowiecki
  • Tomasz Morawski in Jawczyce (hydroponic tulip production);
  • PANEK in Kościelna Góra (perennial production in pots )
  • Volmary in Gawartowa Wola (propagation material for perenials),
  • Norwa Plants (in vitro lab).

Organization

Organizers of the symposium are Warsaw University of Life Sciences and InHort.
