Polish farmers voted for Duda

Yesterday presidential elections took place in Poland. After a fierce campaign the current president was elected for the second term.

Voters' profile

According to the poll, the current president, Mr Andrzej Duda gathered 81% votes of farmers. He also won among unemployed (65%) and physical workers (66%) and retired (63%).

His counter candidate Mr Rafał Trzaskowski, currently the mayor of the capital city Warsaw was mainly chosen among company owners, directors and diverse specialists (68%). Also administration, services(56%)  and students (70%) gave support to the opposition candidate.

It is than quite natural that President Duda won in the countryside and Mr Trzaskowski in cities.

Programme

The party of the president is well known from their social transfers like 500pln for every child or, lately, 13th payment for retired.

The lost candidate is associated with investments and local self-government. Next to ideological issues social transfers and diverse benefits for the citizens built the main axis of the campaign.
