The Agriculture & Food Security platform Ukraine brings together companies and other organizations in the Ukrainian and Dutch agricultural and food processing sector.
About the Platform
The Agrifood platform is set up to facilitate networking and matchmaking, among Dutch and Ukrainian organization in agricultural sector, with a focus on possible public-private partnership contributions for the early recovery and reconstruction of Ukraine's agricultural sector.
The platform currently has approximately 300 participants from both the Netherlands and Ukraine, including private sector companies, knowledge institutions, (inter)national financial institutions, governmental organizations and NGOs.
Schuttelaar & Partners has been appointed as the platform coordinator, with the platform being operational since 2023.
Dutch - Ukrainian sector platforms
The Agrifood platform is one of the sector specific platforms that was initiated by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), commissioned by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The Dutch government encourages Dutch companies to do business with Ukraine, invest and collaborate with Ukrainian companies.

Activities of the Agrifood platform
The Agrifood platform Ukraine provides information to stakeholders, that are looking for cooperating with Dutch/Ukrainian partners in the agricultural sector, organizes networking opportunities, and works with a cluster approach for specific agricultural sectors.
Platform Meetings
Different organizations such as private sector companies, knowledge institutions, inter(national) financial institutions, governmental organizations and NGOs are invited to our biannual physical and online platform meetings, where successful examples of public-private partnerships and other relevant initiatives are presented. This is also where the platform shares relevant information about risk management and financial opportunities.
Newsletters
The platform also has a newsletter in which we communicate about relevant updates on the circumstances of doing business in Ukraine and new partnerships.
Trade missions / Knowledge transfer visits
If your organization is hosting an incoming trade mission to improve collaboration between Ukrainian and Dutch parties related to agricultural and food topics, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us. The Agrifood platform is not able to co-organize your incoming trade mission but our experience with previous incoming missions can support you with advice, contacts and the content of the program. Incoming missions are categorized into introductory, agrifood-specific and sector-specific.
To collect and provide relevant information to stakeholders, the Agrifood platform maintains close contact with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kyiv, the Ukrainian Embassy in The Hague, ministries of Foreign Affairs (BZ) and Agriculture (LVVN) and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). We disseminate relevant information within the platform.

Cluster approach Agrifood platform Ukraine
Development of sector specific clusters of Dutch companies (and sometimes other organizations) meets the needs of Ukraine and the policy of the Netherlands’ government in providing the cluster members with up-to-date information on business and investment opportunities in Ukraine but also on the current risks posed by the war.
What is a cluster?
A Group of Dutch and Ukrainian organizations that work together to:
- Create focus in reconstruction efforts
- Identify needs in their sector
- Collaboration on relevant projects
- Respond to leads coming from Ukrainian stakeholders

- Through the private LinkedIn page of the platform, platform members can easily get in touch with each other outside of platform events which enables companies to connect swiftly to relevant stakeholders.
- Reinoud Nuijten, former Agricultural counsellor of the Netherlands Embassy in Kyiv, is the sector account agrifood for Ukraine within the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO). This means that Reinoud will actively support the Agrifood Platform, we will work closely together to best facilitate the efforts of the Dutch public and private sector and to align them with the needs of Ukraine. Specifically, Reinoud will strengthen the connections to International Financial Institutions.
