Since August 2026, Yvonne van Laarhoven is operating as the Agricultural Counselor at the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Nairobi. Her working area includes both Kenya and Tanzania.

Yvonne van Laarhoven

Yvonne van Laarhoven has been the Agricultural Counselor for Kenya and Tanzania since August 2026. Until the summer of 2026, Yvonne was the Agricultural Attaché at the Permanent Representation to the UN Institutions in Rome, where she represented the Netherlands at the FAO, among other organizations. In Kenya and Tanzania, together with her team, she is committed to promoting sustainable food systems, market access, and the conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity. The LAN team is also dedicated to supporting the Dutch agribusiness sector, including in horticulture, the poultry sector, and the flower industry.

The Agricultural department and our colleagues at the Embassy are here to stimulate trade and investment between Kenya and the Netherlands in the Agricultural Sector and strengthen value chains by working together closely with Kenyan Institutions and the Kenyan Private Sector. Building and fostering partnerships between Kenyan and Dutch businesses & government is key to the vision of the agriculture team.
