Cold chain logistics in rural areas

MARA held a conference to deploy the work plan on urban modern agriculture development to all provincial governments on August 18. This video conference focused on constructing the cold chain logistics in rural areas, which is also considered an extension of the pilot project of last year. In addition, the meeting emphasized the importance of storage and preservation of agricultural products in rural areas to ensure the high-quality supply of agricultural products all over the country. Digital development in China

The China-Shanghai Cooperation Organization forum on the digital economy and Smart China Expo 2021 was kicked off in Chongqing on August 23. More than 610 companies are participating in the events in Chongqing, both online and offline. The SCE 2021 will last until August 25.

With themes of "Promoting Common Prosperity by Developing Digital Economy" and "Smart Technology: Empowering Economy, Enriching Life," both events will help to accelerate the joint efforts of Chongqing and the SCO to build a digital economy industry development and cooperation platform. The events will also fully utilize the municipality's edges in intelligent manufacturing, digital economy, and industrial development to gather more international innovative resources for the city.

China has been actively promoting digital industrialization and industrial digitization in recent years. According to the white paper "Digital Economy Development in China," China's digital economy in 2020 had reached 39 trillion yuan ($6 trillion), accounting for 38 percent of its GDP, effectively supporting the country's epidemic prevention and control efforts and economic development. Beijing invests in a next-generation information technology and health industry

The 2021 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) will be held in Beijing from September 2-7. The theme of CIFTIS 2021: Towards digital future and service-driven development.

Currently, there are 165 organizations from 108 overseas countries and regions confirmed to participate. CIFTIS 2021 will hold more than 100 forums and conferences, as well as promotion and negotiation activities. Forum topics mainly cover global hot trends: digital economy, carbon neutrality, and epidemic prevention & health.

People's Government of Beijing Municipality released "Beijing’s 14th Five-Year Plan for Development of High-End Technological Industries", stating that Beijing will actively cultivate and form two internationally leading pillar industries: new-generation information technology and medical health.

1) The new-generation information technology projects will be placed in Haidian District, Chaoyang District, and Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, aiming to make an operating revenue of 2.5 trillion yuan in the new-generation information technology industry 2025.

2) The medical health industry has achieved a leading advantage in next-generation vaccines, antibody drugs, cell and gene therapy, and domestically-made high-end medical equipment. Changping District and Haidian District (northern part of Beijing) are the key locations for the medical health industry. Beijing aims to make an operating revenue of 1 trillion yuan in the medical health industry by 2025, 400 billion yuan in pharmaceutical manufacturing. Source: ciftis
