The Embassy of the Netherlands is delighted to present this visual journey through the International Flower Trade Expo (IFTEX) 2025, which was held in June 2025 at Nairobi’s Visa Oshwal Center—a vibrant gathering that celebrated Kenya’s flourishing floriculture sector. This year’s edition shattered previous records, featuring over 189 exhibitors from 18 countries, alongside a notably higher pre-registration rate underscoring the event’s growing global appeal.
What Shines at IFTEX 2025
Sustainability at the Forefront
Echoing the Embassy’s ongoing commitment to sustainable development in floriculture, exhibitors highlighted eco-friendly farming methods, community-driven initiatives, and responsible sourcing.
Innovation and Diversity
The fair featured a broader range of blooms beyond traditional staples like roses, with chrysanthemums, fillers, summer flowers, and new bouquet assortments gaining traction. On the technological front, there was a visible surge in digital solutions—ranging from precision farming and post-harvest innovations to the integration of AI—aligning with global trends toward automation and smarter supply chains.
A Platform for Global and Dutch Collaboration
For more than six decades, the Netherlands has been a steadfast partner in Kenya’s floral journey. From technical cooperation and investments to market access and shared innovation, the centuries-long collaboration continues to bear fruit. The Embassy was proud to witness these ties in full bloom, standing alongside partners such as Royal FloraHolland and the Dutch Flower Group.
Looking Ahead
IFTEX 2025 not only reaffirmed Kenya’s standing as a global leader in cut flowers but also aligned closely with the Embassy’s mission to foster sustainable agribusiness partnerships. This photo report captures the essence of lasting collaboration, emerging trends, and the shared vision of a greener—and more vibrant—future for floriculture.
