From 28–30 October 2026, the Netherlands Embassy in Baghdad will lead the first Dutch agri-food trade mission to federal Iraq in almost 15 years. The mission will bring Dutch companies and knowledge institutes face-to-face with Iraqi businesses, government officials, and other key players to explore trade, investment, partnerships, and knowledge-sharing opportunities. Deadline to apply is 10 September.
Participants will travel to Baghdad and Kerbala, with the mission timed to overlap with the EU-funded Iraq National Trade Forum (INTF) — giving Dutch delegates a chance to connect with a broad mix of Iraqi and international companies and institutions.

Growing opportunities in Iraq's agri-food sector
Iraq is undergoing significant economic and agricultural transformation, and that's driving demand for modern technology, sustainable farming solutions, and outside expertise. This is exactly where Dutch companies and knowledge institutions can add value — think agritech, horticulture, sustainable agriculture, food processing, and knowledge exchange.
Beyond the business meetings, the mission gives participants a chance to get a real feel for the Iraqi market: talking directly with local companies, distributors, and government representatives, and starting conversations that could turn into lasting partnerships.
The mission comes at a timely moment, as the Dutch travel advice for large parts of Iraq has recently changed from red to orange, making business travel to federal Iraq more feasible.

How to join
Registration is free of charge — companies and institutes just need to cover their own travel and accommodation.
If you're a Dutch company or knowledge institute interested in joining, reach out to the Netherlands Embassy in Baghdad at ERB-LVVN@minbuza.nl by 10 September 2026 to register.
The mission offers a unique opportunity to connect Dutch expertise with Iraq's growing agricultural market and to lay the foundations for new, long-term partnerships between Dutch and Iraqi stakeholders.
More details on the Iraq National Trade Forum are available on the official INTF website.
