Floristic demonstrations took place last week in Kyiv in the framework of Christmas Trade Show, which is a platform for Ukrainian and International florists and suppliers of flowers and decorative materials. Agenda included master classes, demonstrations, presentations of the current trends and materials etc.

Flowers are the most recognizable image of the Netherlands in the world. At the same time the endless fields with grains are the image of Ukraine.

This year the demonstration supported by the Dutch Embassy in Kyiv had a concept jointly developed by the Office of the agricultural counsellor in Ukraine and the Ukrainian Florists’ Society @ufs.ukraine - “Re.Form: The code of the Fields” – re-interpretation of ethnic forms in a modern interior and design.

This concept of the demo was talentedly implemented by Oksana Kovalenko (Kharkiv) @ok.and.co.deco, winner of the National Florist Competition of Ukraine 2025.
Oksana's creative handwork with natural materials, the use of ethnic elements and agricultural products in combination with Dutch and Ukrainian flowers delighted the audience.

Floriculture as integral part of Topsector Horticulture and Planting materials is a focus area for Dutch-Ukrainian cooperation. The Netherlands supply to Ukraine floricultural products of various categories, and knowledge exchange in the Floristic sector is going on.
