Why Jalisco?

Jalisco is in the top 3 of Mexico’s most important agricultural states, with a diverse mix of open field crops and strong agro-industrial value chains. Agriculture is the cornerstone of the state’s economy, exports, employment and integration into international markets. Crops like berries, agave, avocado, citrus and sugarcane provide economic value and essential contributions to national and international food systems.

At the same time, agricultural expansion and intensification have caused serious pressure on natural resources. Both the private and public sector call for action, and are looking for practical and scalable approaches that combine data, technology and better practices in the field. This includes efficient water use, reforestation, soil restauration, sustainable crop protection and (solar) energy solutions.
