Ukraine is an important and stable player for the European Union. According to 2024 data, the volume of organic exports from Ukraine to Europe amounted to 93%, to the EU - 84%. Despite the war and other risks, supplies are stable, obligations are fulfilled. The traditional list of importing countries is headed by the Netherlands. The top three are Germany and Austria.
International Conference “Organic Export Vision: Ukraine 2026”
Last week the International Conference “Organic Export Vision: Ukraine 2026” took place, focusing on key trends, practical cases, and tools for the development of organic exports from Ukraine. The conference brought together 197 participants, including Ukrainian organic exporters, international importers and partners. The conference programme was built around the combination of:
- analytical data on Ukraine’s organic exports,
- practical experience of Ukrainian exporters,
- perspectives of international buyers working with Ukrainian organic products, and
- presentations of export support instruments and announcements of plans for 2026.

Facts and figures of organic trade
In the analytical presentation, Serhii Halashevskyi, Director of the certification body Organic Standard, presented the results of a study on organic exports from Ukraine, which formed the basis for further discussions on market trends, export structure, and development prospects.
According to the study:
- in 2024, the number of organic operators in Ukraine amounted to 436 companies certified according to international standards;
- The total area of land under organic production is approximately 350 thousand hectares.
- the total value of organic exports reached USD 141 million;
- export volumes amounted to 243 thousand tonnes.
- Ukrainian products are steadily supplied to 30-35 countries around the world.

Geography of Ukrainian exports
The number of importers does not change significantly - it is 250 companies. Europe is the main buyer of organic products from Ukraine, as it is close and convenient. There may be occasional supplies to distant markets in Africa, Asia and Australia. The volume of organic products going to the Middle East, the Emirates, and Saudi Arabia is gradually increasing.
In terms of geographical structure: 93% of exports were directed to Europe, including 84% to EU countries; 6% of exports were supplied to North America.
The traditional list of importing countries is headed by the Netherlands.
The top three are Germany and Austria, which are adding positions every year.The Netherlands is the largest buyer, sometimes the volume of purchases reaches almost 50% of all Ukrainian exports. The Kingdom mainly imports grains (corn, wheat) and soybeans, which shows the EU’s dependence on Ukrainian proteins and whites to a large extent. The volume of purchases to Moldova is growing.
Organic products
Ukrainian organic producers are important suppliers to the European market of corn, wheat, soybeans, sunflower products, millet, berries, honey, as well as medicinal raw materials. In 2024, there was high demand and price for frozen raspberries, and new products are also emerging.
The product range consists of more than 90 items and is constantly expanding due to processed products. The Top 10 organic products exported from Ukraine worldwide include:
- soybeans,
- corn,
- wheat,
- sunflower meal,
- frozen blueberries,
- rapeseed,
- sunflower oil,
- flax seeds,
- unrefined sunflower oil
- millet.
Organic imports to Ukraine
Ukrainian market of organic products is estimated at $30 million, the share of imports is one third. 268 items of goods are supplied from 24 countries.
Organic wine is the leader among purchases. In second place is plant-based milk. In third place is baby food.
Soft drinks, juices, pasta, yogurts, puddings and desserts, sweets, vegetable oils, sauces, spices are also imported.
