Dutch companies interested to explore and/or expand their businesses in one of Eastern Europe's most promising agrifood markets are invited to take part in this unique trade mission.

Ralf van de Beek, Director for International Agribusiness and Food Security at the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security and Nature

The mission will focus on two sectors: livestock development and (covered) horticulture, these being amongst the most promising sectors in Romania. It is organised alongside the INDAGRA international fair,Romania’s largest agrifood fair. Join us and let your company be discovered at the “Dutch Day @ Indagra” on October 30, and discover yourself Romania during the insightful field visits organised on October 31. And there is much more to it!

Why Romania?

  • Romania has one of the largest agricultural areas in the European Union, offering significant potential for both crop cultivation and livestock development.
  • Need for better fertilisation strategies and better valorised arable crops through the development of a stronger livestock sector.
  • Potential for the export of fertilisation products to Romania.
  • Strong demand for year-round fruits and vegetables, currently met largely by import. This opens the door for Dutch innovation in covered crop production (CEA).
  • The development of a professional, efficient and resilient covered-crop-production sector has become a priority.

What to Expect:

  • Dutch Day at INDAGRA, where Dutch technologies and innovations suited to Romania’s agrifood sector are showcased and promoted;
  • Concrete partnership opportunities through tailor-made matchmaking with Romanian companies;
  • Sector specific presentations and information on the state of affairs in these sectors as well as on doing business in Romania;
  • Networking event, to hear and learn from experiences of businesses that are already present on the market and meet key contacts
  • Sector specific field visits (reflecting the state of affairs) with two separate programmes:
    • Livestock development
    • Covered horticulture (CEA)
