Smart Poultry & Pig World Expo
Between 10th and 11th of September, Smart Poultry World in Sofia will gather producers and stakeholders with suppliers of technologies, equipment, products, services and knowledge from Bulgaria and abroad. For a third year in a roll, the platform will provide a unique opportunity for international B2B contacts and exchange of views on hot topics related to animal health; resilience and sustainability of supply chains; food quality and security; competitiveness and affordability. But this year the organizers are expanding the scope into another key sector for Bulgarian animal farming – swine production – by adding Smart Pig World into the business event portfolio.
Smart Poultry and Pig World is organized by BulX in partnership with Bulgarian Poultry Union (BPU), The Association of Pig Breeders in Bulgaria and the Association of Industrial Pig Breeding – three of the biggest branch association in Bulgarian animal farming having many of the largest companies (incl. suppliers) as members.
Business and network opportunities for Dutch companies and institutions
Both poultry and swine sectors are among the fastest growing and most concentrated and industrialized branches in Bulgarian agriculture. Driven by strong and traditional domestic demand and good export positioning (especially in poultry), Bulgarian producers are looking for capacity increase and competitiveness. In the same time, the dynamic regulatory and animal health environment are imposing significant challenges for farmers to maintain or grow sustainably their production. Thus, due to both opportunities and threats, Bulgarian producers are increasingly investing in new technologies, knowledge and know-how in response.
The year 2025 is especially important for investing in the sector, given the foreseen opening of a call for public support of investments under the CAP’s Strategic Plan in the next few months. It is expected that most of the farmers will focus the completion of their mid to long-term investment plans throughout the upcoming year or two, which also unveils substantial business opportunities for Dutch suppliers and why not - investors. The Netherlands is a well-known and highly esteemed partner in Bulgaria with many of the biggest producers already having positive experience working with Dutch businesses and organizations. Smart Poultry and Pig World could be a good platform for network creation and expansion as well as market exploration, entry and growth.
The Exhibition
The Smart Poultry & Pig World Expo event will be held in the main an most modern exhibition center in Bulgaria – Inter Expo Center, on 2500 square meters of exhibition space located next to the conference hall and organized in about 50 separate stands with different sizes and settings, flexible to exhibitor’s preferences. The partnerships with Bulgarian branch associations and their more than 200 members, including the largest producers in the country, place the forum in a unique position to influence the modernization, automation and digital transformation of poultry and swine farming. Traditionally, among the exhibitors are leading international and Bulgarian suppliers in the poultry and swine industries.
