Background

Romania’s agriculture potential is unquestionable and positive developments in reaching its full potential are on their way.

Livestock development and horticulture (covered crops/greenhouses) are amongst the most promising sectors. With its large agricultural area, Romania needs on the one hand good fertilisation, on the other hand would like to see its arable crops better valorised through the development of a stronger livestock sector. Also, when looking at the demand of all-year-round fruit and vegetables in Romania – currently met through high imports – the development of a professional, efficient and resilient covered-crop-production sector has become a priority.

We strongly believe that the Dutch agri-food complex is well-positioned to contribute to these developments.

This intense and effective trade mission will support Dutch companies (especially in livestock production and horti/greenhouse production) in entering or expanding their position on the Romanian market. Objectives:
