The United Nations Food Systems Coordination Hub is set to organize the second United Nations Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4) from 27 to 29 July 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Building on the successes of the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit and the first Stocktake in 2023 (UNFSS+2) in 2023, this landmark event is planned to accelerate efforts toward sustainable, inclusive, and resilient food systems transformation worldwide.
Ethiopia, building on its remarkable leadership during UNFSS+2, will host the Stocktake, co-hosted by Italy, a longstanding advocate for food systems transformation. The summit will serve as a crucial platform to review global progress, strengthen partnerships, and unlock investments that drive transformative change.
With only five years remaining to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030, UNFSS+4 will showcase successful country-led transformations, innovative solutions, and address challenges especially in fragile and conflict-affected regions.
The event kicks off with an Action Day on 27 July, featuring field visits and stakeholder sessions, followed by plenary discussions on 28 and 29 July at the UN Economic Commission for Africa in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Outcomes from this event is expected to feed into major global forums including the UN General Assembly, the World Food Forum, and the upcoming COP30, underscoring the summit’s integral role in shaping the future of global food security.
