The grand opening ceremony of the Dutch pig farm Research, Training & Technology application Center (RTTC) was held in Beijing on 17 May. RTTC is a demo farm for swine, presenting the latest Dutch technology to the Chinese market. Representatives from the Dutch government, Royal Agrifirm Group, RTTC's partners, and research institutions of this sector also attended the event. The Chinese and Dutch guests jointly opened RTTC, symbolizing that a new era of collaboration between the two sides has commenced. A documentary showcased RTTC's cutting-edge technology and vision for sustainable livestock farming.

The trade mission, accompanied by leaders from Shandong Provincial Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau and Qingdao Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, visited Shandong New Hope Liuhe Group Co., Ltd. in Qingdao on 18 May, and had face-to-face exchanges with department heads of various sectors of New Hope Liuhe Company. Mr. Xin LI, Deputy Director of Shandong Provincial Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Bureau, pointed out in his speech that “The Netherlands has rich agricultural resources, fertile land, favorable climate, and strong government support for the development of animal husbandry and animal welfare. There is still a lot of room for cooperation between our two countries. Shandong is also very willing to further enhance the cooperation with Dutch partners for mutual benefit in the animal husbandry field.”

The NL Pavilion at  the 22nd China Animal Husbandry Exhibition (CAHE) in Qingdao (May 19-21) featured 30 leading Dutch companies together with the trade mission companies. The scale of NL Pavilion participating companies reached a record high this year, showcasing the Dutch latest technology and innovation of the entire value chain in piggery, poultry, dairy, breeding, feed and animal nutrition sectors.

One-on-one B2B match-making session was also organized during CAHE to connect Dutch companies ( such as The Schippers Group, HATO, FarmWise, LeeO, Kanters, and Ridder) with top Chinese enterprises. Intensive discussions focused on smart farming, animal health, and sustainable solutions.

The launching ceremony of RTTC took place in Qingdao on the evening of May 19. This demonstration pig farm is a modern breeding base that integrates sustainable design concepts and adopts advanced management systems, with cutting-edge technology systems and professional equipment. The pig farm has successfully introduced 660 sows and 8 boars recently. The project is highlighted with animal welfare, efficiency, eco-friendly practices, smart innovation, and traceability. Dutch partners shared their contributions to this joint project, and witnessed the grand launching of this project in China with Chinese business partners.
