Ethiopia: Invitation to join the Netherlands Pavilion at ALEC 2025, Africa’s largest livestock fair in Addis Ababa

Ethiopia stands out as one of Africa’s most promising countries for the livestock sector, especially in poultry and dairy. These sectors are top priorities for both the Ethiopian government and the Dutch embassy in Addis Ababa. Now, your company has the chance to be part of the continent’s leading livestock trade platform from 30 October – 1 November 2025 at Millennium Hall, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The 10th Session of the Africa Livestock Exhibition & Congress (ALEC) returns to Addis Ababa as the premier East African livestock event, focusing on dairy, poultry, aquaculture and bioenergy. In 2024, ALEC welcomed a wide range of professional and trade visitors from across Ethiopia and beyond including farmers, processors, suppliers, and innovators.

Building on the success of last year’s Netherlands Pavilion, which hosted over 15 Dutch companies and organizations, the Dutch Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security & Nature, along with the Dutch Embassy in Ethiopia, intend to organize NL Pavilions at ALEC 2025.

What you can expect:

  • Choice of exhibition spaces: 9 m² or 18 m² within the Netherlands Pavilion
  • Exclusive networking opportunities and business matchmaking
  • Engaging side events highlighting the latest innovations in the sector
  • A prominent platform to showcase Dutch expertise in dairy and poultry

Perfect for businesses specializing in:

  • Genetic breeding materials
  • High-quality animal feed
  • Advanced milking, processing, and cooling solutions
  • Farm machinery, storage systems, and logistics
  • Training programs and knowledge-sharing initiatives

This is a unique opportunity to connect with one of Africa’s fastest-growing markets and forge strong commercial ties in the region. Ethiopia is home to the largest livestock population in Africa and is actively investing in modernizing the value chain.

Interested companies can request participation details and register by emailing the Agricultural team at the Dutch Embassy in Addis Ababa via ADD-LVVN@minbuza.nl before the 15th of July 2025. Don’t miss out as spaces in the Netherlands Pavilion are limited.

If your interest goes beyond just having a stand, such as matchmaking, field visits, or hosting side events, we’re able to organize tailored activities to help you better understand the local context and connect with relevant partners or buyers based on your specific interests.
