President of Kazakhstan met with FAO Director General in Astana
President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with the Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Qu Dongyu, who arrived in Kazakhstan to participate in the Astana International Forum.

The head of state stressed the importance of cooperation in ensuring global food security and sustainable agricultural development.
The Ministry of Agriculture of Kazakhstan maintains a close partnership with the FAO bureau and has successfully implemented 27 projects. Currently, another 14 projects are being implemented in such areas as natural resource management in drought- and salinity-prone agricultural lands, sustainable aquaculture development, and soil resource management.
Qu Dongyu noted the significant role of Kazakhstan in ensuring global food security and providing humanitarian aid.
The interlocutors paid special attention to the promotion of the national brand - Almaty Aport. Kazakhstan is officially recognized as the birthplace of this apple variety. At the end of the conversation, the parties confirmed their readiness to further strengthen the partnership to achieve mutually beneficial results.
