Central Asia: Seminar-training on organic production held in Fergana Valley in Uzbekistan
On May 15, 2025, a scientific and practical seminar-training on the topic “Production of organic products” was organized in the Department of Agriculture of the Fergana Region.
The event was attended by specialists from the agricultural departments of the Fergana, Andijan and Namangan regions, as well as district offices, representatives of farms, exporters and other industry participants. In total more than 65 people took part in the seminar.
The seminar provided extensive information on the basic concepts of organic agriculture, its benefits, European Union standards, certification system, internal control and opportunities to enter international markets.
The training participants also became thoroughly familiar with international requirements and recommendations applied in the cultivation, processing and storage of organic products.
At the end of the event practical proposals and recommendations for the development of organic agriculture were put forward and the importance of strengthening future cooperation in this area was emphasized.
